FROM VISION BOOK TO REALITY .... SOMETHING AMAZING HAPPENED
Share
Ok so this week I had a real ‘pinch me’ moment.
We were selected to work with a publication that I swear I have wanted to work with for SO LONG. The name has been in big letters in my vision book for a very long time...
Cosmopolitan
Yes, Cosmo-freaking-politan. The magazine that Elle Woods referred to as the Bible...
We have teamed up with them to bring you an amazing competition - which you can enter here - it’s free. And get a chance to win one of 10 stationery bundles worth £50!
For a small brand like us this is huge.
So obviously, it didn’t just happen because I wrote it in my vision book BUT the point of a vision book or a board is the visual reminder of what you are working towards - so you can consciously and sub-consciously take action to get you there.
I want to take a moment today to remind you that, no matter who you are you can achieve amazing things.
I know that sometimes thinking about your dreams can feel exciting, but also like they are never going to happen.
Self doubt can creep in so easily and throw everything off course.
You might be thinking who am I to want this, or to think I can achieve this.
I have been there too. And overcoming self doubt, continuing to believe in myself - that is something that I am always working on.
Every level brings new opportunities but also new limiting beliefs about ourselves to face.
So today, take the fact that this tiny small business you follow has ended up in Cosmo as evidence you can do what feels impossible as well. Because I will be!
It doesn’t matter how many times you may have failed in the past, who you are or where you have come from. You got this.
I definitely recommend getting yourself a vision book and starting to fill it with all the things you want in the future - personally and professionally. I made a video on how to make one here and my top tips are also below:
- Get really specific on what you want - In my vision book there is a list of titles of publications I want to be featured in - I have even mocked up some headlines!
- Use pictures, illustrations, doodles - It doesn’t have to be perfect, cut up magazines, use Pinterest to research and get creative. Find images that inspire you and get you excited. It doesn’t just have to be images, you could even mock up an email from a publisher who is interested in your book, get creative!
- Be clear on your why - getting clear on your why and what achieving these things will mean for you is a great way to connect to your goals. (I know you hear me say this a lot!) Think about how you feel when you achieve these things and feel into those feelings, carry all those good vibes with you and act like it’s already happening. What you put out into the world you get back.
- Relax, feel grateful that what you want is already on its way! Be open to opportunities of how things will come your way too. I never thought i would be doing a competition with Cosmo, yet here I am.
